Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Zen Software, LLC ("we" or "us") handles information when you use the Bodybuilding Diet app (the "App"), version 4.0 and later. It covers what stays on your device, what is sent to us and when, who processes it, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.

1. What stays on your device

   Your diet, food selections, profile, weigh-ins and settings are stored on your device. The Diet, Foods, Analysis and Profile tabs work offline and send nothing to us. Speech you dictate to the Coach is turned into text on your device; your audio is never sent. The Coach remembers your conversation between launches only if you turn on "Remember our conversation", and that memory is stored on your device.

2. What is sent when you ask the Coach

   Only when you send the Coach a question, the App sends our server:

   • your question and up to the last eight turns of the conversation, as text;
   • today's date and random conversation and request identifiers;
   • while "Share my plan with the Coach" is on (it is on by default, and you can turn it off in Profile, in Settings or in the Coach tab's menu): your age, gender, time zone, height, weight, body fat, lean body mass, recent weigh-ins, competition division, show date and weeks out, plan type, your High- and Low-day targets, and the vitamins and minerals your sample diet leaves short. We use these to answer that question and then discard them. They are not written to our logs or stored with your identifier.

   Your birthday is never sent, only your age.

3. Identifiers and the Coach subscription

   The App creates a random identifier for your installation and keeps it in your device's Keychain. It is exchanged for a short-lived session and used to apply the Coach's usage limits. It is not your advertising identifier and is not used for advertising or tracking. To confirm the App is a genuine copy, it may use Apple's App Attest service; that check is verified and not stored.

   If you subscribe to the Coach, the App sends Apple's signed record of your subscription (the product, its expiry and Apple's transaction number) so we can confirm your plan. Apple also notifies us when a subscription is refunded or revoked. Purchases, billing and cancellation are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details.

4. Who processes it

   Our server runs on Google Cloud. To write the Coach's answers, your question, the recent conversation and, while sharing is on, the plan details above are processed by Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud (Vertex AI), acting as our service provider, and the Coach's answer text is sent to Google's text-to-speech service when you have it read aloud. Google processes this data on our behalf under its Google Cloud terms, and does not use it to train its models. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it for tracking. The App contains no advertising or analytics software.

5. What we keep, and for how long
   • Service logs: one line per question with timings, the outcome and a one-way hash of your installation identifier, never the question or answer text. Kept for 30 days.
   • Usage limits: a hash of your installation identifier (and of your subscription's transaction number, if you subscribe) with a timestamp, used to count questions. Deleted after 2 days.
   • Refund and revocation notices from Apple, stored under a hash of your subscription's transaction number. Deleted after 400 days.
   • The conversation is held in our server's memory only while it is in use and is not written to storage; it is gone when the server restarts.
   • Our hosting provider's request logs record the IP address of each request for security and operations. We do not use them to locate you.
6. Your choices

   You can turn off "Share my plan with the Coach" at any time, use the App without the Coach, and clear the Coach conversation in the App. Deleting the App removes the data stored on your device. Because what we keep is limited to hashed identifiers and short-lived records, we generally cannot link it to you, but you can ask us to delete anything associated with you by writing to the address below.

7. Health information

   The Coach and the Analysis tab give general information for natural bodybuilders. They are not medical advice and not a diagnosis. Check with a doctor or registered dietitian before changing your diet or starting a supplement.

8. Children

   The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Security

   Data sent to our server is encrypted in transit. We take reasonable measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Earlier versions

    Versions of the App before 4.0 worked differently, including an AI chat feature and cloud features that are no longer offered. If you still use an earlier version, update to 4.0 or later for the practices described here.

11. Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and describe material changes in the App's release notes.
